The Apple iPhone Design & Display

As with all new gadgets, the iPhone has certainly received a lot of hype. Don't get me wrong, the Apple iPhone is a lovely and pioneering new phone which looks great, functions superbly and is easy to use. As outlined through my previous post, the iPhone host a range of features making it distinct and genuinely useful. Who wouldn't prefer carrying a single iPhone in their pocket instead of an ipod, camera, cellphone and PDA?

Design & Display
The iPhone measure 115mm tall by 61mm wide by 12mm deep, and if you have the pleasure of holding one in your hand, you will realise its actually not as big as one would expect. The phone itself has no keypad, just a screen which spans almost all of the front surface of the phone. The display is the juicy highlight of the phone - it looks fantastic. Instead of the usual plastic screen, the iPhone hosts a 3.5 inch glass display with a 80x320-pixel resolution - given its size, thats twice the resolution of a computer screen. The result is a beautifully sharp and colorful crystal clear display.

The iPhone is...

...A fantastic widescreen iPod

With the iPhone, you can store and listen to music as you would on a normal ipod. The iPhone has a beautiful 3.5-inch widescreen display and it lets you lets you sync your content from the iTunes library on your PC or Mac. Once done, you can select the music you want to play by simply flicking the screen and touching the songs, artists, albums, and playlists you want to play.

...An excellent internet device
Ok, so the connection is only 56k at the moment, but that doesnt mean you can't check your emails and browse the web with ease. In fact, the iPhone is perfect for browsing the web, as the handy touch screen feature allows you to swiftly select which are of the screen you want to zoom into, enhancing your browsing experience. On top of that, the iPhone has built in youtube compatibility, with quick loading times and crystal sharp, high resolution - twice that of a normal PC screen.

...Of course, a Phone
It is easy to forget the main function of the iPhone with all the added features, but the iPhone is a great phone to have. Its currently only available on AT&T, but the huge wealth of features including the ability to select voicemail as well as browse through contacts and write messages through the touch-screen, mean that its the most unique and advanced phone ever.
